The Accursed Return of the Pharaohs

The tyrant Pharaohs, coming again to this world,

To rob the kingdoms of our sweetly dreams,

To hang our smiles, and slaughter them with cold,

And pillory the wings of birds with despotism.

They have exiled the Sun to bring the Night.

They've putrefied the rays of our lives with fright.

They've polluted seas and skies and earths with dirges.

They've executed comedies to bring tragedies.

As such, we have to drink again the venom,

The venom of the murky *Acheron's poison.

Inside the sultry *Aceldama's damn,

We're dying every day with the swords of Uncle Sam.

*In ancient Greek mythology, Acheron was known as the river of pain, and was one of the five rivers of the Greek underworld.

*Aceldama or Akeldama (Aramaic: field of blood) is the Aramaic name for a place in Jerusalem associated with Judas Iscariot, one of the followers of Jesus.
