 Asking for & giving promises:

Mike: you know what? We’re going to Spain this summer.

Anny: Really?

Mike: You look surprised; don’t you believe me?

Anny: No! It’s not that; I’m going to Spain, too.

Mike: What a surprise!

Anny: It really is!

Mike: We’ll meet there, won’t we?

Anny: Yeah, I promise.

Mike: You won’t break your promise, will you?

Anny: Of course I won’t.


 Asking for promises:

 Promise me that you will + verb +……….

Do you promise me to + verb (infinitive) ……..?

Will you + verb (infinitive) ………………………..?

I want you to promise me that you will + verb (infinitive) + ……..

Swear a God that you will + verb (infinitive)………….

Is this a promise?

 Giving promises:

I will definitely + verb (infinitive)

 Expressing surprise:

Really?

Are you serious?

You gotta be kidding me!
