  Vocabulary:

 Stereotype: a fixed idea that people have about what someone or something is like, especially an idea that is wrong. (النمطية)

 Examples:

 The characters in the book are just stereotypes.
 The latest series contains a thoroughly offensive stereotype of a Muslim.

 grasp: understanding. verb: to grasp: to understand.

 Examples:

 He has a good grasp of the issues. (noun)

 I think I managed to grasp the main points of the lecture. (verb)

 to focus: to give a lot of attention to one particular subject, person or thing.

 Examples:

 Tonight’s program focuses/focusses on homelessness.
 The following discussion is based on previous studies focusing/focussing on cancer.

 trend: a general development or change in a situation or in the way that people are behaving. (اتجاه)

 Examples:

 The current trend is to arrest people for expressing political views.
  The trend toward bigger cars is new this year.

 roughly: approximately.

 Examples:

  There has been an increase of roughly 2.25 million.
 The money I've saved corresponds roughly to the amount I need for my course
